(patent # 4,515,062)
TENOR and SOPRANO SUNFLOWERS
Tenor Sunflower diameter 16 inches, weight 4 lbs. Soprano diameter 12 inches, weight 2 1/2 lbs. Age 8 and up.
Chromatic (12 tone) instruments with aluminum bars and diatonic cover with Key indicator. When the cover is turned so that the Key arrow is pointing at the Key one is playing in (each bar stamped with note name), the cover blocks out the out of Key notes so that one can improvise along with any music without making a mistake (i.e., playing an out of Key note). Optional pentatonic (5 tone) cover is also available. (Please see the photo of the two covers at the bottom of the page). Wall mountable.
This is the perfect portable beginning instrument for learning how to “Unlock the Key” and improvise along with any piece of live or recorded music. “Unlocking the Key” is a simple to learn exercise in which one tests by ear whether a note fits the music being listened to or doesn’t. As the cover is turned, the open notes are tested to see if they match the music until all open notes fit and the “Key is Unlocked”. A very simple process really, and an excellent ear training exercise for all beginners.
prices – larger tenor – $225 (reduced from $250); smaller soprano $195 (reduced from $225)

DIATONIC (7 TONE) & PENTATONIC (5 TONE) HARMONY GUIDES
Note: When the diatonic Harmony Guide is reversed and placed back on the instrument, the two, in combination, serve as a handy “Circular Chord Transposer” – a very handy tool for re-writing the chords to a piece of music in a different Key.
